One of the objectives of Islamic Education Study Program is to produce Islamic educators who are able to have a role in the community as the most important element in the aspect of instilling Islamic Education values. This objective is in line with the vision of the study program, which is to be a superior study program in the development and mastery of Islamic Education studies with an international perspective based on Al Qur`an dan As Sunnah values. Every graduate of Islamic Education Study Program is rightful to have S. Pd. title with superiority in socio-technopreneurship skills which is in line with the vision and mission of the Faculty of Islamic Studies of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan.

The graduate competence is based on 3 (three) aspects, namely:
Knowledge
Every graduate of Islamic Education Study Program is expected to have a deep understanding on Islamic Education studies. As a result, he/ she will be well-equipped to contribute to the community, especially in the field of education, either formal, non-formal, or informal.
Skills
Every graduate of Islamic Education Study Program is expected to be superior in skill mastery in the field of education, which is the skill to explain and deliver the materials of Islamic Education through an effective and efficient technique or method. Besides, every graduate of Islamic Education Study Program is also expected to develop his/ her skills in socio-technopreneurship, which will be beneficial later as a life skill to either survive or provide job opportunity in the community. One of the efforts made by Islamic Education Study Program in the mastery of those skills is through Field Practice Program (PPL) through a collaboration with various schools in the Yogyakarta and Wates areas, as well as through autonomy development in various student activities within the university.
Attitude
Every graduate of Islamic Education Study Program, as an Islamic Educator candidate, must be able to represent the Islamic educator profile, which is in line with Islamic teachings. The instilment of values and attitude is done through attitude and manner habituation as a Muslim in the academic community of Islamic Education. Every element of education implementer is also demanded to participate in improving sensitivity and to always remind one another of good deed in the implementation practice of Islamic culture for it to be reflected in the words uttered, attitude, as well as individual appearance within the university.
Lecturers
Islamic Education Study Program has 11 permanent lecturers with linear educational background, with the following details: 1 (one) lecturer with professor title, 2 (two) lecturers with doctoral degree, 5 (five) lecturers who are currently pursuing their doctoral degree and 3 (three) lecturers with master’s degree. Those lecturers are the best graduates from both public and private universities in the field of Islamic Education with various disciplines or expertise as attached on the lecturer profile page in the website of Islamic Education Study Program at https://pai.uad.ac.id/.
Supporting facilities
Islamic Education Study Program is organized at 2 (two) different campus locations under Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, which are in Campus 4 as the main campus that is located in Yogyakarta and Campus 6 as the pioneering campus of Islamic Education Study Program in its initial establishment and is located in Wates, Kulonprogo. The implementation of educational activities at the university is supported with convenience and modern smart class-based technology advancement with fulfilled class facilities, such as LCD projector, good classroom layout and laboratory that can be automatically activated by using student, lecturer, or employee ID card. Moreover, student service also has been transformed into online-based service system that is supported with the availability of Wi-Fi in the university area. The implementation of practicum is usually supported with the existence of a laboratory specifically intended for the Faculty of Islamic Studies, computer laboratory, microteaching room, library, literacy room, as well as the Field Practice Program (PPL) collaboration with Muhammadiyah schools as educational partners in the area of Yogyakarta and Wates campus.
