ARABIC LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE STUDY PROGRAM

Arabic Language and Literature Study Program organizes education that is oriented towards the development and research on Arabic linguistics and literature, preparing graduates for the need of experts, especially in the fields of linguistics, literature and translation. The graduates of Arabic Language and Literature Study Program will have the title of S. Hum. (Bachelor of Humanities).

Becoming a study program that is superior in Arabic Language and Literature Studies, internationally-recognized and is imbued with Muhammadiyah values

Advancing Arabic Language and Literature Studies through education, research, community service, collaborations, and good governance of the study program that is imbued with Muhammadiyah values

  1. Developing professional human resource competence in the field of Arabic Linguistics and Literature
  2. Conducting research to support the development of education and teaching in the field of Arabic Linguistics and Literature
  3. Providing community service by using relevant resources
  4. Providing expertise service for the community in the development of Arabic language studies and relevant Islamic studies
  5. Fostering collaboration with institutions that are oriented towards the development of Arabic Language and Literature on the local, national, regional and international level by conducting factual programs in order to educate the people

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration, the Ministry of Education and Culture, LIPI, publisher, reporter, translator, writer, lecturer, museum staff, and tourism staff

Graduates can master Arabic language, linguistics skills, linguistics understanding, translation, ability to transfer knowledge in Arabic language teaching, teaching model development and good Arabic language understanding.

The lecturers of the study program consist of permanent lecturers of the institution, civil servant (PNS) lecturers, and adjunct lecturers. The adjunct lecturers include guest and practitioner, such as writer, novelist, sworn translator, humanist, and others. There are currently 7 lecturers with master’s and doctoral degree. There are 2 lecturers with master’s degree and 2 lecturers with doctoral degree. The other 3 lecturers are currently pursuing their doctoral degree abroad.

There are comfortable classrooms equipped with air conditioner and multimedia equipment, language and computer laboratory, speech and broadcasting training room, hotspot area, student dormitory, and library of the study program. Besides, there are also facilities for the development of student interests and learning skills, including: study group (conversation, debate and translation), scholarships and financial assistance (the Ministry of Religious Affairs of RI, Supersemar, UAD, Lazis, BBM and PPA Scholarship), double degree program, student exchange program to Universiti Malaya (Malaysia) and Canal Suez University (Mesir), alumnus job distribution (for overseas program, UAD collaborates with Thailand, Malaysia and Mesir).
