ENGLISH LITERATURE STUDY PROGRAM
The English Literature Study Program was established in 1996 and obtained an operational permit in 1997. The study program carries out quality education and is based on Islamic values in accordance with American study, literature and language scientific fields. Graduates are entitled to obtain a Bachelor of Literature (S.S.).
Vision
In 2020, English Literature Study Program will be a study program that is superior, has a global outlook in the fields of culture, language and literature and upholds Islamic values

- To provide quality education that is integrated with Islamic values in accordance with the fields of language, culture and literature
- To enhance research in accordance with the scientific field that can contribute to both the institution and the society
- To increase community service in the fields of culture, language and literature

Objectives
- To produce graduates who have good character, English language skills and scientific knowledge in the fields of culture, language and literature
- To produce beneficial research in the fields of culture, language, and literature
- To apply knowledge and skills in the field of culture, language, and literature in productive activities and community services to the society
- To establish cooperation with various domestic and foreign parties for the development of education, research and service to the community with the principles of benefits and justice
- To implement Islamic governance that reflects credibility, transparency, accountability, responsibility and justice
Graduates Prospects
English Literature study program graduates are spread in various professions, including Research Assistants, English Language Teachers, Translators/ Interpreters, and Journalists.
Competence
Graduates master theories and practices in culture, American studies, literature, and English; master the concepts and practices of research in culture, American studies, literature and English; master basic English skills (Reading, Speaking, Writing, Listening) in the fields of literature, culture and English; analyze and interpret every phenomenon related to the fields of literature, culture and English; have sensitivity to cultural, literary and linguistic phenomena in the society to develop their personal and professional skills.
Lecturers
The study program has 13 lecturers, three of whom have taken doctoral degrees. Meanwhile, 3 other lecturers are currently pursuing their doctoral studies.
Supporting facilities
The study program offers various facilities, including representative and comfortable lecture rooms that are equipped with computers and LCD projectors, online computer platforms, online library, computer laboratory, multimedia laboratory, language laboratory, Self-Access Centers with library and cable TV facilities, Interest and Talent Development Facilities (Theater 42 , English Club, Gendhing Bahana, REWA®DS [Reading and Writing of Ahmad Dahlan Society], Letters Club, etc.) and student organizations (IMM, BEM, DPM).
