PSYCHOLOGY STUDY PROGRAM
The Psychology Study Program organizes creative and innovative teaching and learning processes to produce graduates who are capable of identifying, understanding, and solving community problems with psychological principles based on Islamic and Muhammadiyah values. This program develops research and community service in the field of psychology which is oriented towards answering the demands and needs of the community with an approach of moral and intellectual cohesiveness. At present, the Faculty of Psychology holds two study programs, namely Psychology Undergraduate Program with S.Psi (Bachelor of Psychology) degree and a Psychology Master’s Program with two specializations, namely Master of Science (M.Sc.) and Master of Profession (M.Psi.).

Mision
- To organize education to produce graduates who are noble and capable in handling community problems from the perspective of community psychology who uphold Islamic values
- To organize education, research, and community service (Tri Dharma) in order to answer the demands and needs of the community with a community psychology approach based on Islamic and Muhammadiyah values
- To apply learning methods that are oriented towards innovative student learning center, based on problem solving that stimulates and encourages students to be lifelong learners
- To establish cooperation with domestic and foreign instances
Objectives
The objective of Psychology study program at the Faculty of Psychology of UAD is to produce professional human resources with Islamic personalities in the field of Psychology who:
- Understand the basic knowledge of psychology and objective observation techniques to interpret human behaviour according to psychological principles and Islamic values, both for individuals and groups
- Get to know a variety of psychological measurement tools as well as understanding their functions and purposes
- Are able to show sensitivity to biopsychosocial and moral values and problems in the Indonesian context
- Are able to conduct research in the field of Psychology
- Are able to appreciate and implement ethical codes of research and professional knowledge
- Are able to implement the concepts of psychology with Islamic, Muhammadiyah, and humanism values
- Have analysis understanding and carefulness in terms of community service and problem solving from psychological and Islamic perspectives
Graduate Prospects
Teachers, lecturers, experts, counselors, HRD, Civil Servants (PNS), psychologists in hospitals and health services (graduates of the Psychology Master of Profession), employees in public and private companies
Competence
Graduates master the basic concepts of Psychological theory, psychological assessment with measuring devices or test kits with certain categories, make interventions that are not related to pathological matters, and have research abilities. In addition to the main competencies, graduates of the Psychology undergraduate program also have supporting competences, which are the ability to communicate verbally and in writing, the ability to establish productive interpersonal relationships, the ability to plan their own careers and showing behaviour that is based on Islamic values and dignity.
Lecturers
The lecturer competences are divided into several areas of expertise, namely the fields of Educational Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Psychometry, Clinical Psychology, and Social Psychology. The minimum academic qualification for lecturers of Psychology Study Program is master’s degree for teaching undergraduate students and doctoral degree for teaching graduate students in accordance with their area of expertise.
Supporting facilities
Lectures are supported by a number of facilities such as LCD lecture halls and audio-visual facilities, library, mosque, canteen, parking space, and Wi Fi areas. There is also a Psychology laboratory which includes psychological test kits, psychology test rooms, counselling rooms, observation rooms, monitoring rooms and a Psychology Service Unit (UPP) that provides services in HR development — Industrial and Organizational Field: recruitment, potential review, employee placement, promotion, organizational analysis, training service, performance appraisal and job analysis. Education Field: talent and interest search, and intelligence test. In addition, Psychology Study Program has consultation service facilities (family and marriage problems, talent and interest search, child developmental problems, adolescent problems, clinical problems in adults and children, and group counselling).
