The Biology Study Program is committed to providing high quality and trusted higher education that is supported by adequate facilities and competent teaching staff. The Biology Study Program is one of the oldest study programs at UAD that produces practitioners and researchers in the field of Industrial Biology with a global perspective and is based on moral and Islamic ethics. Our mission is to become a superior study program in applied biology mastery which is the basis of technology to produce biology graduates who have academic and professional expertise with Islamic moral. The efforts made to carry out the mission are supported by adequate facilities, competent teaching staff and a curriculum that is compatible with the industrial era of 4.0.

The graduate Prospects
The graduates of Biology Study Program can become a researcher and practitioner in the Government and Private Institutions in the Field of Industrial Biology, Bioentrepreneur, Laboratory Analysts and Technician, Environmental Analysis Expert, and Educator, both in universities (lecturer) and schools (teacher).
Competency
Graduates have a general understanding on biology, are skilled in managing ideas, concepts, problems, discoveries, development and application of biology, and actively participate in research on the development and application of Biology. Graduates have a high curiosity, are sensitive to the development of biology both locally and globally, appreciate the authenticity of ideas, concepts, and other findings, appreciate interdisciplinary efforts in research development in order to utilize natural resources.
Lecturers
Biology Study Program of UAD has a Teaching Staff with 20% of them having a doctoral degree, 60% having a Master’s degree, and the other 20% currently pursuing Master’s degree. The lecturers are alumni from well-known universities such as Bandung Institute of Technology, Gadjah Mada University, Padjadjaran University, Andalas University, and Brawijaya University, as well as foreign universities such as Bold University (USA), Tokyo University (Japan) and Jichi Medical University (Japan). The Biology lecturers of UAD have expertise in Systematics and Taxonomy, Animal Structure and Physiology, Plant Structure and Physiology, Ecology and Conservation, Environmental Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biomedics, Biotechnology, and Molecular Genetics that support graduates’ skills in Industrial Biology.
Supporting Facilities
The academic activities are supported by various facilities, such as representative lecture rooms (with LCD, AC, Whiteboards). The Biology Study Program has a number of laboratories, divided into Teaching/Practicum laboratory and Research Laboratory. The Research Laboratory consists of Ecology and Systematics Laboratory, Microbiology and Biochemistry Laboratory, the Biotechnology (Genetics and Molecular) Laboratory, Plant Structure and Physiology Laboratory, and Animal Structure and Physiology Laboratory. The Biology Study Program is also equipped with other facilities, including Basic Physics Laboratory, Computer Laboratory, and is also supported by digital-based library (http://digilib.uad.ac.id), internet/Wifi access, as well as various scholarships for the students(Bidikmisi, BBM, PPA, Supersemar, Dikpora Student Scholarship, scholarships from several partner banks of UAD, etc.).
