EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM

The Directorate General of Early Childhood Education and Community Education (Ditjen PAUD and Dikmas) stated that in 2016/2017, there were 707,490 PAUD teachers in Indonesia. Of these, there were still 438,633 teachers who have not yet obtained a bachelor’s degree. That is, PAUD services are currently still being handled by many educators who do not possess the required qualifications (Bachelor’s Degree of Early Childhood Education). Based on this problem, the Early Childhood Teacher Education Study Program (PG PAUD) of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan which was established on August 5, 2011 is committed to participating in preparing qualified and competent PAUD educators.

To become a Study Program that is superior in the Field of Early Childhood Education by Instilling an Entrepreneurial Spirit and Global Outlook Based on Islamic Values

  3. To develop a network of cooperation in order to instill the spirit of a global-minded entrepreneur
  • To produce professional Islamic educators in the field of ​​ early childhood education
  • To produce early childhood teachers who are able to provide expertise services to the community
  • To produce human resources capable of conducting studies to support scientific development
  • To produce graduates who have independence in developing their knowledge and expertise for the community

PAUD Educators, PAUD Managers, Researchers, Instructors, Entrepreneurs

1. Main Competences

Graduates can understand the characteristics and development profiles of early childhood learners, and are able to design, implement, evaluate, and carry out follow-up learning activities in PAUD.

2. Supporting Competences

Graduates can understand Islamic values ​​that are reflected in daily life, are able to implement Muhammadiyah life, and are able to read Al Qur’an fluently

3. Specific Competences

Graduates can have an entrepreneurial spirit, utilize information and communication technology in organizing the learning process, and have a global outlook, both in knowledge and communication.

The lecturers consist of one professor, one lecturer holding doctoral degree, and seven lecturers holding master degree. They graduated from national and international universities such as UGM, UNY, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, UPI, and Universitas Sains Malaysia. In addition, they are expertise in some fields of sciences such as development psychology, guidance and counseling, and early childhood education.

Lectures are supported by a number of facilities, including air-conditioned lecture rooms equipped with LCD projectors and sound systems, library, mosque, cooperative, parking area, sports field, and WiFi network, as well as PG PAUD laboratories covering 4 (four) units: (1) Development Laboratory, (2) Workshop and Work Gallery Laboratory, (3) Learning Laboratory, and (4) Service Laboratory (Health, Nutrition and Growth and Development).
