MASTER OF PHARMACY STUDY PROGRAM
The Master of Pharmacy Program was established on August 16, 2010 with a Decree of the Minister of National Education signed by (ANB) Director General of Higher Education based on the Decree of Higher Education Number: 119/D/0/2010.
The vision of Master of Pharmacy Program is to become a Master of Pharmacy Program that is superior in the implementation of Tri Dharma (Three Pillars of Higher Education) to produce professional graduates with global competitiveness in the fields of community pharmacy and natural resource-based pharmacy based on Islamic morals. Meanwhile, its missions are to organize Master of Pharmacy Program that produces Pharmacy experts who have the ability in the implementation and development of science and technology for community pharmacy and natural resource-based pharmacy in accordance with the development or science and technology based on Islamic values and community service; to organize basic and applied research as the contribution to the development of science; and to establish higher education and research networks with other renowned domestic and foreign institutions. The graduates of Master of Pharmacy Program will obtain a Master of Pharmacy (M.Farm.) degree.

Mision
- To organize Master of Pharmacy Program that produces Pharmacy experts who have the ability in the implementation and development of science and technology for community pharmacy and natural resource-based pharmacy in accordance with the development or science and technology based on Islamic values and community service
- To organize basic and applied research as the contribution to the development of science
- To establish higher education and research networks with other renowned domestic and foreign institutions
- To organize community service activities based on scientific data as a contribution to the health and welfare improvement of the people
Objectives
1. To produce graduates of Master of Pharmacy Program who have:
- High integrity personality;
- The ability to keep up with the latest developments in the pharmaceutical sciences;
- The ability to develop drugs and cosmetics of natural materials in the aspects of pharmacological action mechanisms and their formulation and use in evidence-based therapies;
- The ability to provide professional clinical pharmaceutical services;
- The ability to develop research in the pharmaceutical field;
- The ability to empower community-based natural science pharmaceuticals and clinical science.
2. To produce scientific products of national and international reputation;
- National and international publications;
- Intellectual Property Rights.
The Graduates Competency
1. Main Competences
Specialization in the Development of Natural Medicines and Cosmetics:
- Able to develop drugs and cosmetics from natural materials based on scientific evidence and communicate them to the development of science and technology in the field of natural-based pharmacy;
- Able to develop techniques of isolation and identification of active compounds from natural ingredients;
- Able to develop natural medicine and cosmetic formulation technology;
- Able to develop quality assurance techniques for medicinal products and natural cosmetics;
- Able to contribute in developing phytotherapy based on scientific evidence.
Clinical Pharmacy Specialization:
- Able to practice pharmaceutical services in accordance with principles and ethics as well as the latest scientific and technological developments and disseminating them in scientific and non-scientific forums;
- Able to contribute actively in the preparation, evaluation, monitoring and prevention of adverse events and medication errors in drug therapy in hospitals and in the community through the preparation of standard therapy/ formulary/ clinical practice guidelines/ clinical pathways based on scientific evidence;
- Able to contribute actively in the development (planning) and implementation of the PIO program in hospital.
2. Supporting Competences
- Able to search for, assess information sources, and communicate and present drug information;
- Able to do interpersonal communication as part of a health team;
- Having the ability to assess and provide treatment recommendations in accordance with Islamic values.
- 3. Other Competences
Able to work effectively as part of a professional group;
Able to communicate in English;
Able to use IT facilities / tools effectively, including skills in conducting information retrieval.
Lecturers
The lecturers of Master of Pharmacy Program are Professor and/ or hold Doctoral degree from Domestic universities, with a total of 19 people, and foreign universities, with a total of 15 people, who have competences according to their field of expertise. Their various competences include Chemistry, Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacy Analysis, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Biology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology, Islamic Medicine, and others.
Supporting Facilities/ Laboratories
Student practice activities are supported by a number of laboratories, including Integrated Research Laboratory, Chemistry Laboratory, Pharmacy Biology Laboratory, Pharmacology Laboratory, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology Laboratory. Some equipment provided by the program include HPLC, UV Spectrophotometer, Densitometer, Oven, Test Animal Cage, Tablet Printing, Large-scale Dryer, and others.
In addition, there are also internet access facilities via LAN (computer platform) and Hotspot Areas, as well as a library that is equipped with a digital library (http://digilib.uad.ac.id) and a comfortable discussion room to support student activities in studying pharmaceutical science. Air-conditioned lecture rooms with various facilities including LCD Projectors, Audio Visual, and others are part of the excellent service provided by the program to create a comfortable academic atmosphere as a place of learning. The existence of UAD Pharmacy, health clinic, canteen, student cooperative, ADI Cooperative (lecturer-employee) and various services make it easier for students to access various needs while on campus.
